His 43-year career spans leadership positions at several successful biotech and IT startups, including Cardiovascular Systems (NASDAQ:CSII), National Information Systems Inc., Metrix Communications and Reliant Technologies, which developed Fraxel, a revolutionary, FDA-approved medical laser for skin surgery (now Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. NYSE: VRX). In addition to several published articles, he has written and co-written several books: “Quality on Trial,” “Customer Relationship Management” and “Miracle of Stem Cells: How Adult Stem Cells are Transforming Medicine.” He earned his Ph.D. in communications from Kent State University, his M.S. in sociology from the University of Minnesota and his B.S. in English from Wisconsin State University. In the nonprofit sector he passionately supports the Boundary Waters Experience, which provides young people with wilderness experiences.
